Welcome
to Sew Now This.
This
site was originally put together to help me with my sewing projects
in college and at home. It originally just contained my favorite links in
a way that would be easy for me to look up and was housed on Geocities (which since has ended).
It has grown to house my articles and tutorials on the subjects
and other pages. This website is always a work in progress and new things are being added all the time, while others are being taken off.
Before
I took any college courses about the subject of sewing, all the basic
terminology and simple techniques were pretty foreign. Since taking a few courses and reading up on both old archival and great modern sewing books, I've learned a great deal. Having children gives me the opportunity to
try out all the sewing techniques in the way of outfits and accessories
for them whenever there is a free moment. I love collecting old, out of print and archival sewing and needlepoint books. Crewel embroidery is a favorite to look at and I love working needlepoint on linen.
I currently use a Bernina Activa 145 for my machine
sewing and a Huskvarna Viking Huskylock 910 for my serging. They have both been with me for a long time, I'm happy with
both models.
Any
opinions and advice you read are from someone who enjoys sewing as a
hobby. You can write to me about the site to: sewnowthis@gmail.com.
Thanks for stopping by!

If
you have an interest in pastry, I invite you to my site: www.pastrysampler.com.
It's my business site on pastry, with articles I wrote all about the
subject, recipes, pictures of cakes I've done, tools for sale, and a
questions and answers section that may help you in your next baking
project. A special thanks to all of you who have kept me as a reference for both pastry and needlework all these years!
